               The Vivekanand Agriculture College was established in the year 2003, at the holy place of Vivekanand Ashram, Hiwara Bk, Mehkar, Dist: Buldana,444301.The founder of this college is saint "Shri Swami Shukdas Maharaj". This college is Affiliated to Dr.Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) Akola.

      The Buldana district is a part of the backward regions of the maharashtra, which was largely rainfed area with lack of modern agricultural technology and the awareness among the farmers. The Farmers generally relied on the crops like jowar, cotton and pulses only. The yeild levels too were very low. Lately, an oilseed crop of soybean have been replaced the cotton and jowar on the large scale. Therefore, the late H.H Maharaj Shri felt the need to establish an agriculture college in this part of Maharashtra that would go a long way in educating the childern of farmers and increasing the income of farmers in particular and rural people. This resulted in the establishment of  Vivekanand Agriculture college on 9th october 2003

    

   LIBRARY

              The college consists of proper library with a good structure and knowledgeable books. This library is occupied with approxmately 7800 books. Each and every student is provided with a library card so that they can collect the books from the library for seven days. The library also consist of photocopy facility for the students and faculty.  

LAB FACILITY

               The college provides a well eqquiped laboratory for each and every subject to all the students in the college. Laboratory will be maintained by well trained staff. Each and every student should use the laboratory under the guidance of a professor. The intention of this laboratory is to provide practical knowledge to the students

FIELD VISIT

                     Each and every subject will be teached with the help of visiting fields for the practical knowledge to the students. This is college provides the topic by practically. Every student in this college should participate in the field work. In the time of the field visit every student should do some work on field. So that all the students will get proper knowledge. Field work will be done under the guidance of well trained staff. Each and every subject has proper field to conduct visits and field work to the students.

COMPUTER LAB

                       College also contains a proper modified computer lab with a large capacity of the students. This laboratory has the capacity of 30 students at a time. This laboratory contains modified computers. Thisn laboratory also provides internet facility to the students.

 SMART CLASSROOMS

                         Each classroom  in this college is provided with a smart class technology. Each and every subject will be thought by help of smart classes to the students.

RAVE  PROGRAM

                       After the completion of the 3rd year students will participate in the program called Rave.

Every student belongs to 4th year will participate in this Rave program. All the students will be appointed to the farmers near to the college for this Rave. Farmers will guide the students for more practical knowledge. Marks will be allotted to the students based on their work on field.

                                

                     Each and every program in this college will consider all the students who belongs to the particular subject. This college maitains proper dress code to all the students and also staff. A disciplined program will be maintained to the students all over their four years of the studies.

CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

                     Not only for the academics but also this college will consider  the friendly relation towards the students for more knowledge. This college will conduct cultural programs to the students with the annual time table.
